Providing a tailor made Shanghai experience

Three typical requests Sure Exposure in Shanghai receives on a daily basis:  “Show us the hidden authentic Shanghai on a private tour. No big tour buses please.” “We have plans to conquer the Chinese market with our product. Help us prepare for our fact finding mission in Shanghai.” “We will visit Shanghai with our family of 8, please prepare a tailor made private touristic itinerary.” Sure Exposure always has an answer.

Sure Exposure, consisting of founder Mirian Keuning, Carry Wu and Ellen Petit, is a Tourism & Events Consultants firm, specialised in tourism, events and services. Making a head start in 2009, they have tapped into the market of tourists and companies that want to explore Shanghai ‘the right way’. “The right way to us is a matter of translating the client’s wished into local solutions”, Mirian says. “China is a special market. Getting around is not easy for newcomers, tourists and businesses that want to settle in China. We are the intermediary that understands their needs. With all due respect: we know more about what people from the west are looking for in China than the Chinese. With that in mind, we instruct and train our local guides for tailor made services.”

Personalised program

Mirian Keuning saw the opportunities for Sure Exposure when she was working for an international hotel in Shanghai. She says: “I noticed some Dutch and Belgian tourists being disappointed about not seeing Shanghai outside of the common tourist traps. We decided to fill the gap.” That was two years ago and the need for the approach of Sure Exposure has been made clear since. “Many tourists that visit China, want a personalized program. They want to experience Shanghai in an authentic original way! We make sure they visit the city and stay at hotels with a real Asian character, learn about the real Shanghai and experience the Chinese culture. We offer an unforgettable journey by making sure the city is experienced in all of her unique ways.”

Business clients

Besides leisure tourism, business clients are now also becoming more and more common. Sure Exposure made its start during the World Expo in Shanghai. “I noticed that there is real added value in helping western business people to find their way in and around Shanghai. We therefore now also facilitate entrepreneurs and new or already established companies with the organization and coordination of networking-, matchmaking and other events in Shanghai to have efficient and smooth access to their desired contacts.”

Sure Exposure however not only organises events, they can do much more. “For companies that are working on their China market entrance, we prepare the trip and make sure they get in touch with the right authorities, agents and possible local business partners. Companies can also depend on Sure Exposure for arranging a suitable local representative in case they don’t have someone to present on the spot”, says Mirian, who has built an extensive network and reliable connections with locally established companies. “We know our way around and understand the needs of our business clients.
